Celebrating Sikh Heritage Month in Timmins

Led by Michelle Boileau, Mayor of the City of Timmins, the event was marked by the solemn raising of the Sikh Heritage Flag at Timmins City Hall, symbolizing the city's recognition and appreciation of Sikh culture, history, and contributions to Canadian society.

In attendance was Kanwaljit Kaur Bains and her husband, Trustees of Sikh Sangat Gurudwara Timmins, who joined Mayor Boileau in this significant ceremony. As the flag ascended, Bains bowed her head in reverence, reflecting on the importance of this occasion. She remarked, "We celebrate Sikh Heritage Month to honor the remarkable achievements and contributions of the Sikh community throughout history".
