Northern Ontario’s Annual Khalsa Day Parade in Timmins

On Saturday, June 28th, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the Gurdwara Sikh Sangat of Timmins will host our Annual Khalsa Day Parade—a vibrant celebration of the Revelation Day of the Khalsa that welcomes people from all walks of life across Northern Ontario.

  • Program Kick‑Off : 9:00 AM • Gather at the Gurdwara Sikh Sangat of Timmins (24 Cedar St S) for Kirtan (devotional hymns) and Turban‑Tying demonstrations.
  • Nagar Kirtan Parade : 11:00 AM • The procession departs the Gurdwara, travels down 3rd Avenue & Wilson Avenue, pauses at Shoppers Drug Mart, then returns via Algonquin Boulevard, concluding back at the Gurdwara.
  • Langar (Free Community Meal) : Enjoy a complimentary vegetarian feast in the langar hall—no RSVP required and everyone is welcome!

  • Kirtan Darbar : Spiritual hymns setting a festive tone
  • Sikh Motorcycle Club : A spectacular motorbike escort in full Khalsa regalia
  • Gatka Demonstrations : Traditional Sikh martial arts performance
  • Information Display : Learn about Sikh history, art, and values
  • Turban‑Tying Station : Try your hand at wrapping a dastaar, guided by our community volunteers
